About REFOG

REFOG has been making monitoring software since 2002. The families who use it are trying to answer a question that gets harder every year: how do you stay involved in your child's online life without taking it over?

We build tools that help parents see what is happening on the devices their children use — the apps they open, the sites they visit, the text they type, the time they spend — so a worrying pattern turns into an early conversation instead of a crisis months later. The goal is not to spy on children. It is to keep parents close enough to help.

Families are not the only people who rely on us: businesses use REFOG to oversee the computers they own, under the same rule of openness. Our software runs on Windows — from home PCs to Windows Server — and is used worldwide, in 19 languages, with millions of installations to date.

What we believe

Monitoring should be honest. We built REFOG for disclosed, consent-based use: by parents looking after their own minor children, and by employers on devices the company owns, with their staff informed. That boundary is deliberate. REFOG is not built to secretly track other adults, partners, or anyone whose device is not yours to oversee.

We put that belief into the product, not just the marketing. REFOG runs visibly by default, with an on-screen indicator that monitoring is active; a reduced-visibility mode exists only for parents monitoring a younger child on a device the family owns, after monitoring has been disclosed at home. Our Acceptable Use Policy sets out plainly who may use REFOG and who may not.

How we price

We try to keep the pricing as honest as the software. Families subscribe to the tools they use at home; businesses buy a one-time licence for each computer they monitor, with no recurring subscription. We would rather keep your trust than lock you in.
